Tessa Griffin lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.
My art is influenced by years of travel, philosophy and events in everyday life. I look for the essence in a subject or subject matter. Context often provides the necessary inspiration which, in turn, dictates the medium. However, in the process of creating any work, medium becomes subject, and therefore, a medium is sometimes the source for inspiration.
Throughout life, as student, as educator and as parent, I have always valued creativity and emphasized the importance of process. Trusting the process is an art in itself but one that brings us closer to discovering our own essence.

"The openness to the process of becoming is the bridge between the thing in itself and the thing as it appears."
- Martin Heidegger
